Our company signed up, attended only the initial onboarding session, and quickly realized the platform was not the right fit for our business. We sent a written cancellation request immediately after our first onboarding meeting, before migrating our operations or fully implementing the software. Although Hostaway later confirmed in writing that our one-year agreement had been waived and that our subscription and account had been fully canceled, we were still billed for two additional monthly subscription fees. We disputed the charges with our credit card company but were unsuccessful. My biggest takeaway is not about the software itself—every PMS works differently and may be a great fit for some businesses. My concern is the contractual commitment and the cancellation process. If you're evaluating Hostaway: Read every contract provision carefully before signing. Ask detailed questions about the cancellation policy, notice period, and billing obligations. Don't assume that discovering during onboarding that the platform isn't the right fit will allow you to walk away without financial consequences. Keep every communication in writing. I wish I had known all of this before signing. The platform offers a wide range of features and integrations that help us automate many of our daily tasks and keep our operations organised. I would also particularly like to mention Fatih from the onboarding team. He was fantastic throughout the entire onboarding process. The training sessions were very clear and easy to follow, and he has a great ability to explain even the more complex features in a simple and practical way. He was always friendly, patient, attentive and happy to answer all our questions. So far, the main areas we feel could be improved are related to workflow and ease of use. Another small frustration is that when we receive a notification for a new guest message and click on it, it takes us to the Hostaway homepage rather than directly to the relevant conversation in the inbox. It would be much more practical if notifications linked straight to the message. I like that Hostaway allows you to import and export a listing to multiple platforms and edit those listings (along with rules, amenities, etc) all within the Hostaway platform. I also like that Hostaway allows for mobile access and that the calendar syncs across listing platforms. > > **Nackdelar**: The mobile usage of Hostaway is sometimes difficult to navigate. Some features are not available on mobile, like creating owners’ stays or clicking on a property’s links to platform-specific listings. Additionally, sometimes Hostaway does not sync correctly, and will allow for bookings to be accepted despite a calendar block. I would also love for Hostaway to adopt better mother/child listing options - for example, we have one listing where guests can rent one unit, two adjoining units, or the entire building (three separate listings). While we are able to place the individual unit under the two adjoining units, we are then unable to place the two adjoining units under the listing for the entire building. > > I use Hostaway on a daily basis to manage reservations for 100+ short term vacation rentals across VRBO, Airbnb, and more, including on our own website. I mostly use Hostaway for the calendar view, creating direct reservations, and viewing guest messages.
