Duo Security is a bit of a double-edged sword

Kommentarer: Duo Security is necessary and useful when trying to protect your secure access to portals and data online. However, this company hasn't quite worked out the delays and programming bugs that still come with the app.

Duo Security does resolve many issues with sensitive information and secure access, as the approved user is given sole access by having this app on the user's phone.

There are numerous delays in alerts and sometimes it appears that programming bugs cause the app to malfunction, even when using the latest version of the app.

Kommentarer: Duo Security was the second-in-line when it came to authentication and data security for protecting my device's applications but really fell short when it came to the execution of its actual functionality when the time came. So, within the time period of installing and using the software, I soon uninstalled it in search of another software to satisfy my needs with less complications.

Duo Security's simplistic design format makes any user, including myself, notice any and every possible feature available and if unsure, can contact their support team who replies in a very short span of time.

There were times in the past where I would use Duo Security as a two-factor authentication system to login my Instagram account. However, on those times the code that would refresh every 30 seconds was always deemed incorrect. And so I would have to disable the software's functionality and risk my account security to simply login to Instagram.

Multifactor authentication has been effective at making users have to sign in securely to our networks. Duo admin console is easy for our techs to learn and user setup takes a few minutes to complete. The device and user management for sign-ins allows us to manage the authentication more effectively.

We have experienced the admin console inaccessible at times when there have been updates or outages. The timer for accepting pushes doesn't always sync up correctly.

Duo Security is expensive but provides high quality and speedy results

Kommentarer: If money was not an issue, I would choose Duo Security for our organization's MFA/2FA security solution. It is backed by Cisco and their wide array of security products.

Duo Security will enable your organization to add MFA/2FA into your authentication process. Duo Security has a clean interface, and I was able to easily navigate the various pages. It has a nice app for mobile phones, both Apple iOS and Android. It can produce reports for compliance inquiries.

Duo Security is an expensive product because it is designed for enterprise installations of several thousand users who need an easy integration with the highest levels of security.

A security tool which you can rely for MFA

Kommentarer: We were asked to implement MFA for cisco anyconnect and we found DUO could do this job as cisco did not have their own solution for MFA. Implementation took less than a day and it was super easy to use. License cost is also cheap. It supports Push notification, sms and even phone call. Support is very awesome as they respond quickly.

A well known muti-factor aunthentication Solution

Kommentarer: Overall, Duo Security is one of those mandatory have solutions. In the world of today where security is a big concern, multi-factor authentication is essential.

We use Duo Security to login to almost all our cloud infrastructure platforms. It is simple and minimum set up is required for someone to get set up and start using. It provides a variety of authentication methods like one-time passwords, push notifications, SMS etc. My favourite authentication method is the approval methods by the mobile phone app. The way it works is that once you input your username and password, a prompt is then sent to your phone with two options, either approve or deny. It is only after selecting Approve that you are signed in. I like this method because it is the easiest to use of all the multi-factor authentication methods available for Duo Security. Another advantage of Duo Security is that it works with quite a number of platforms ranging from desktop services, cloud services and VPNs.Duo Security offers insightful analytics which helps you track the security of your platforms. Login attempts can be monitored, and potential security threats eliminated before they can cause any harm.

Duo Security is very much connectivity and mobile device dependent. This may not be accessible to everyone at any given time. Another limitation of Duo Security is that the mobile application is only accessible through certain phones with a certain a specific android version for Android Mobile Users. There is this one time when the application failed to install in one of my colleagues phone. They had to use their wife's phone for multi-factor authentication whenever they needed to login to a specific remote desktop.

Mobile authentication is great, the pop up screen that just require accept once you are login in to the VPN is very efficient and easy to use.

When changing mobile device or phone number associated to the DUO it can be a nightmare doing the self service steps for people that are not computer savvy, within the organization has colleagues that do it very fast and some of them that hard to understand and follow the steps.

Essential additional layer of network protection

Provides an additional layer of security when logging into servers, firewalls, switches etc when offline MFA security or local administrator accounts. If the internet is detected a simple notification to Approve/Disapprove is set out to the mobile app. If the internet is offline you can use rolling codes to still login whilst maintaining essential security.

The administrative interface can be still confusing when setting up Users and Groups and often links are hidden away in large sections of text. Try setting up RDP and locating the Duo EXE and you'll know what I mean

Great program for security

A must have for security

Kommentarer: Overall, using Duo helps to be sure that no one can access to my accounts and helps reduce the stress and insecurity.

Using Duo security gives me the ease of mind that no one can try to hack my email and data . I know that using this, if someone tries to abuse the information and log in to my accounts, I will immediately notified.

One of the problems is that sometimes, even with choosing the remember for 30 days option, I have to enter the passcode on my phone every time that I want to enter to my accounts.

Security made easy!

It's an app that I have on my phone and so easy to use. I use it for work when I have to work remote at home. Whatever I am trying to get into as far as work accounts, its trigger's my duo app to make sure I am the actual user. All I have to do is hit accept in the duo app and I am logged into whatever work feature I am trying to use remotely. It's safe and protects confidentially.

The only thing I forget is that if you get a new phone, you have to re download the app and re-register your duo account with your IT department at work. It's easy to do, but It's not something I think of until I try getting in and can't.

Authentication using DUO PUSH

Kommentarer: Working for several years. Easy to use and no disruptions in the service.

Sometimes using WIFI networks take some seconds to receive push. I have 1GB optic fiber, don´t think so itcould be due WIFI. Perhaps it´s the handset WIFI module. When I use with mobile data connection it is immediate.

Highly recommend for remote authorization usage

I love how easy this system is to use either remotely through a computer or a phone. I never had trouble accessing my patient charts when outside of the hospital. It was a very reliable system.

Sometimes I don't get push messages or I get two at once, which sometimes takes a long time and can be frustrating when you need to access resources quickly.

Kommentarer: I use DUO to sign in securely into my work computer. I haven't had any issues and I'm able to add as many computers and devices on there as I want.
