Easy, effective, scalable

Kommentarer: We switched from another tool after having used Asana in the past. It integrates well, is easy to use, and easily guides our daily work.

Ease of setup, what exists out of the box made it much easier to implement than previous software we used, it's affordable, and everyone has learned to use it well.

Nackdelar:

Some quirks of users owning automations (I wish they belonged to the project and could exist without the user), I wish there were rules/automations on portfolios.

Kommentarer: While I enjoyed Asana (hello happy unicorn when you mark off your to-do list), our team decided Notion better fit our needs.

Asana was able to support the organization for a variety of projects. It was user-friendly!

Setting up Asana on the front end takes time. You have to decide what you want out of the product and then build it into their system. Once we got it set up, things moved smoothly from there, but it really was a bit heavy to begin.

Intuitive Planning Software - Great for Projects

Kommentarer: Running an online business requires a lot of different types of tasks from product creation to social media. I especially like to use Asana for complicated projects like creating an online course. This task benefits from project management because there are a lot of dependencies. For example, you can't launch the sales page until you finish the checkout page, etc.
However for daily to-dos I find something simpler (like pen and paper) is more useful.
I still haven't completely refined my workflow to optimize my use of software.

Asana is a very robust project management tool with a simple interface. It is not hard to get started and do the basics such as creating a project and adding tasks. The app is also very intuitive and you can get to your tasks quite quickly. I like that I can just scroll through the tasks and find one that I can do in the time I have available. You can also prioritize your tasks by importance. I like the list view of projects because I don't have to open workspaces and boards, etc. However, it does also have the Kanban layout.

Nackdelar:

This is not really the fault of the software, but I tend to put too many tasks in project management tools and this reduces my motivation to open them. Ultimately, it's easier for me to remember something when I write it down on paper.

Powerful Task & Project Management Tool

Asana allows me to track my own tasks as well as tasks that ladder up into larger projects and campaigns. Asana provides transparency and accountability into managing work across teams and organizations, and generally seems to be customizable and adaptable to an organization's needs.

Like a lot of software, if you don't set it up in a way that the software can be maximized, you're going to miss out on the value. For example, if different teams in your organization set up their own Asana accounts independently and under different formats, you're going to lose the value of being able to track work across teams and functions - find a way to set it up together even if some work doesn't always need to be visible.

Asana is a great way to stay organized and in 'the-know' about project statuses.

Kommentarer: I've used Asana at several organizations now, and if I take a new job that doesn't already use it, I add Asana to our tech stack immediately.

I like how easy it is to create both individual and group project boards. I not only keep my personal tasks organized with Asana, I can also see my teammate's progress and comments about various stages of a task or project.

Asana - Reliable in task and project management

Its a reliable tool for project and task management. Whats much better we are able to prioritize on tasks that we creates. Its easier to use and very straight forward.

The cost of acquiring the license is high. Limited capabilities for free versions.

Kommentarer: It has been a life saver and honestly I could not manage my team without it.

The calendar view. In one screen I can see what my entire team has going in the upcoming days and how full our schedule is.

The phone app. I wish it was a little more robust. Lacking the calendar view is what I dislike the most about the app and why I don't use it much in my manager roll.

Sometimes switching between companies/jobs is a bit clunky. There isn't a whole lot to complain about when using it, however.

Great for Project Management across a remote team

Kommentarer: Used widely amongst the team across all areas of the business with vary levels of full engagement. We initially had all the company goals mapped out and had these filtering down into various teams sub goals, but then realised several of the teams weren't using the platform to record in this way, so we downgraded and allow the teams who love it to use it in the way that best suits them.

As a project management tool it's strong - lots of really simple to use layouts and project templates so no PM experience required to get started. It's reporting functionality is great too, and goal setting is really useful to the team.

Nackdelar:

The price. We'd love to go for the biggest plan but for a start up it's hard to justify the full cost if only certain teams are adopting it. It can get expensive pretty quickly.

Kommentarer: Unless you are going to use it consistently on a daily basis you will not get the full experience and benefits it has to offer your company. However, if you do, the sky's the limit for your company.

How does Asana help a team of affiliate marketing managers?

Asana is a highly approachable project management platform

Kommentarer: I was introduced to Asana four years ago by a director I was working with. We used it to track our marketing projects. Since then I've used Asana with two other teams, and each time I've joined a new team the platform quickly became indispensable to our project management. It's how I plan my day, update my clients on projects and collaborate with team members.

Using Asana is intuitive. It's so easy to pick up. Especially once you find the task view you prefer. I like using the Calendar and Gantt views, but there's something for everyone. It also is a great system of record for projects. The whole team can connect on a project's overall progress but also on its details, and the ability to add hyperlinks and attach docs to tasks keeps everything in one place, which is indispensable for successfully managing bigger projects.

Nackdelar:

I don't dislike anything about Asana, but I've used different tiers of Asana throughout the years and am currently using a tier that doesn't include the ability to set a project's status. I miss that feature.

An excellent program for project management.

Kommentarer: Asana supports me in my daily management tasks, helping me keep all the information organized in one place and collaborate seamlessly with the entire team. I truly find it superior in terms of project management compared to all the other tools I’ve tried.

Kommentarer: Overall, my experience has been great. Even when I switched teams at work and my new team didn't use Asana, I continued to use it because it just makes my life easier.

I like the automation you can set up on Asana, I find myself using recurring tasks a lot and also being able to complete a certain action on a task automatically sending that task to another section. I also love just how easy it is to use and how aesthetically pleasing it is to the eye. The fun unicorns shooting across the screen also provide a certain level of reinforcement.

Nackdelar:

I'm overall a pretty big fan but there are certain features that don't exist in Asana but maybe they will soon that I wish did already. For example, I wanted to create a task template out of a subtask but found out it only lets you do that with tasks and not subtasks. I reached out to support about it and wondered if as a workaround I could just copy the subtasks from one task and apply them to another and I was unable to do that as well.
